What it is
A long-acting capsid inhibitor given as a subcutaneous injection just twice a year to prevent HIV.
The evidence
PURPOSE 1: zero infections among 2,100+ women; PURPOSE 2: ~96% reduction in incidence. FDA-approved for PrEP (June 2025); WHO-recommended; PEPFAR rolling out in high-burden countries in 2026.
